My favorite time of year (other than Christmas!) is fair time. Growing up our family went to the Northwest Washington Fair every year with my mom's 4-H horse club. Whether I was showing horses, sneaking off to the candy booth under the grandstands or taking a ride on the Zipper - the fair was always filled with magical moments. These days I still go to the fair every day, hang out in the horse barn and eat more than my share of fair food. And every moment is still magical as I watch the fair unfold before my little girl's eyes.
This year I again entered the Photography contest in the Professional Division and for the second time received the award for Best of Division. I have to tell you as I entered my print I snuck a peak at all the gorgeous images being entered and I was so thankful I wasn't the one judging because we have some amazing talent in this area! Paisley and I walked to the Photography area the first morning of fair. As we searched the walls for my image that morning I was delighted when from afar I noticed my image was awarded Best of Division. How blessed am I to do what I do...so, so blessed.
Oh my these summer months are going by too fast! I'm working away on weddings right now and am hoping to get some posts up about my incredible couples soon! In the meantime, here is my little cutie patootie enjoying her job as a model for my Lynden Dutch Bakery photo shoot for ice cream sandwiches! The perks of having a commercial food photographer for a mommy!
There is nothing better than watching my client's children grow! The last time I photographed little Isaac he was only six months old and was just sitting on his own. Now he is an adorable four year old with big, beautiful eyes and a precious, quiet little personality. Not only has Isaac grown up but his older siblings have too - into awesome teenagers who were so cooperative and fun to photograph! At the last minute we changed the session location to Peace Arch Park in Blaine, WA and it was so much fun to go there for the first time! What a great location for our sunny Spring day shoot! Thank you so much Angie and David for letting me photograph your beautiful family again! You all are so wonderful to work with - I truly hope I don't have to wait so long to photograph you all again!
I had so much fun photographing one of my favorite families again a couple weeks ago. Sweet baby Colson is already six months old (do you remember his newborn pictures with the surf board?) and big girl Brielle just turned 3! We also grabbed a few pictures of brother Colby and mama Jessica just because we could! We started in the studio in Lynden, WA and then headed out into the beautiful spring weather for a few outdoor shots. Thanks so much Jessica for bringing your adorable children to me once again! I just adore them and love to see them grow! I can't wait until next time!!
